Prince Harry’s lawyer has announced that his client, who sued the Daily Mail, was deeply affected by the articles published by the tabloid.

  • Last February, Prince Harry sued The Daily Mail
  • His lawyer submitted statements written by his client
  • Prince Harry said he was very touched by the articles published in the tabloid

Last February, prince harry sued the Associated Newspapersone of the largest media groups which notably owns The Daily Mail. The tabloid was notably prosecuted for articles “defamatory” targeting the Duke of Sussex, as announced by his lawyer, as part of a preliminary hearing, organized this Thursday, June 9. Master Justin Rushbrooke thus told the judge that his client, Prince Harry wanted to take legal action for two articles published in the Mail on Sunday and the MailOnlinewhich happen to be the Sunday and digital edition of the DailyMail.

According to Prince Harry’s lawyer, the published articles, found to be defamatory, accused Prince Harry of having “lied”, having “cynically” attempted to manipulate public opinion and to have “tried to keep secret his appeal against the government to obtain police protection in the country”. The Associated Newspapers disputes the defamatory nature of his articles. However, Prince Harry’s lawyer sent statements from the latter, in which he wrote that the articles in question had caused him “a great deep hurt, embarrassment and continuing anguish”.

Prince Harry uncomfortable during Jubilee

Marked by this case, Prince Harry therefore expects a lot from justice, he who has everything even suffered when he came to the United Kingdom, for the Queen’s Jubilee. According to Katie Nicholl of Vanity Fairthe couple would have felt apart: “Honestly, I think they knew they wouldn’t be in the front row. And why did they leave the royal family? They left because they weren’t in the front row. I think that’s why they weren’t at the other celebrations because they didn’t have center stage seats.” For Ducan Larcombe, royal biographer: “These four days will haunt Prince Harry for the rest of his life. They have been relegated to sitting behind the Duke of Gloucester.”
