Here is the Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 Pro, a shockproof smartphone that promises great resistance and longevity. In addition to that, some functions dedicated to professionals complete the picture.
Samsung is a brand well known to the general public. Historic number one in the smartphone market – although this position has recently been challenged by fierce competition – the South Korean giant is also a major player in the sector of phones dedicated to the professional world. The brand equips the fleets of large groups such as Stellantis (Peugeot, Citroën, etc.) or even certain ministries. So arrives the freshly formalized Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 Pro.
This is a rugged smartphone that promises to be “ very resistant without compromising too much on design. Thus, despite its shockproof design, it has a thickness of 9.9 mm and weighs 235 grams. In absolute terms, it’s substantial, but the XCover 6 Pro has been refined and lightened compared to its predecessors. On the durability side, the device puts forward its arguments:
- military certification MIL-STD 810H;
- iP68 for waterproofing;
- Victory Gorilla Glass protection.
Some features dedicated to pro mode
In other words, even if it’s never recommended, you should be able to leave him without ever worrying too much about his condition. In addition to solidity, Samsung also pulls out the longevity card by guaranteeing three years of major Android updates and a five-year security monitoring. Note in passing that the phone runs natively on Android 12.
In addition, components are available on the market for seven years – and five years for the removable battery. It is partly thanks to this that the repairability index rises to 8.7/10 on this model.
The Galaxy XCover 6 Pro also features Samsung’s in-house Knox security solution. One year of subscription to the premium version is also offered. This formula allows companies to easily manage software deployments on the smartphones of their employees.
As it is a shockproof smartphone for professionals, the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro offers some functions designed in this context:
- programmable keys which, by means of a long press, allow the device to be used as a walkie-talkie (this is useful for people who do not necessarily have the possibility of using the classic touch interface and who need to communicate quickly with a colleague);
- barcode scanner take inventory of products, provide maintenance or check stock availability;
- NFC support to replace badges for example;
- possibility of transforming the telephone into a payment terminal;
- Samsung DeX experience available.
Also note that the Galaxy XCover Pro 6 has a screen that can be used with gloves (even if they are quite thick) and is ” the first rugged smartphone compatible with 5G and Wi-Fi 6E “. For the technical sheet, it should be remembered that the device has a 6.6-inch TFT LCD panel which has the luxury of offering a 120 Hz mode. Also count on a Snadrapgon 778G, 6 GB of RAM and storage of 128 GB expandable up to 1 TB via microSD.
The battery boasts of long-lasting battery life with its 4050 mAh capacity. It works with a 15W load, but this does not come in the box. Finally, the brand explains that it reused plastic waste from the ocean to manufacture the phone.
