In total, our customers took delivery of 4,204 sports cars from the Stuttgart manufacturer. Porsche Schweiz AG, founded in 2008, thus surpassed its previous best result of 234 units (2016). Compared to 2021, the increase is 9.3%. And compared to 2019, the year before the pandemic, it is around 13%. Once again, the Macan compact SUV topped the list.
Michael Glinski, CEO Porsche Schweiz AG: “Our excellent delivery result is overshadowed by the painful events affecting Europe and the world. We will all have to continue to deal with the consequences of this situation in 2023. But within the Porsche community, we will also have reason to rejoice: many new products await us, and this new year will be very special for the brand. . In celebrating 75 years of Porsche sports cars, we are going to celebrate the dream of Ferdinand Porsche, the founder of our company – the dream of the ideal sports car. »
The Macan is once again the preferred model in Switzerland
In Switzerland, the Macan continues to enjoy great popularity among Porsche models: in its four variants, this perfectly versatile sports car has won over customers 1,410 times, most often in its GTS version, the sportiest derivative of each model series.
The marque’s icon, the Porsche 911, was the second most requested car. A total of 1,028 vehicles were delivered by our commercial companies. Most often, it is in its coupé version that customers have chosen their 911 Carrera 4 GTS. The 480 hp model with a three-litre supercharged boxer engine and all-wheel drive is also available in Cabriolet and Targa versions.
The 718 mid-engined compact sports car was delivered 191 times. It is available in open Boxster or closed Cayman version. Most often, the choice of customers fell on the 718 Cayman GT4 RS, which is particularly efficient.
Strong demand for E-Hybrid models
Once again, the second SUV in the Porsche range was also a great success in Switzerland. The Cayenne celebrated its 20e anniversary and recorded 758 deliveries. Customers have generally opted for the Cayenne E-Hybrid Platinum Edition. Technically, this variant is characterized by a V6 turbo associated with an electric motor. The Platinum Edition is equipped with particularly attractive standard equipment.
The classic SUV shape of the Cayenne has been complemented since 2018 by a coupé-like body. In 2022, the two rear parts have been about as successful as each other. The same was true for traditionally-powered derivatives and E-Hybrid variants: just over half of the Cayennes left Porsche Centers with an additional electric motor.
The plug-in hybrid concept enjoyed even greater success with the luxury sports sedan Panamera. More than 70% of customers have opted for a partially electric drive. Similarly, some 66 percent of customers chose the straight-rear Sport Turismo body shape. In total, the Panamera was delivered 218 times, most often in its Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo version.
In the past year, Swiss dealers have delivered the first Porsche with purely electric drive 599 times. The Taycan, presented in 2019, is now available in three different forms: hatchback hatchback, Cross Turismo and Sport Turismo hatchback, with even more space in the cabin. It was the Cross Turismo body that had the most success in 2022. The most popular Taycan was the Taycan 4 Cross Turismo.
The Taycan accounted for just over 14% of all Swiss deliveries. Plug-in hybrids totaled around 13% of sales. Thus, more than a quarter of new Porsche vehicles delivered in Switzerland in 2022 had a fully or partially electric drive.
Beyond its range of vehicles, Porsche has also launched new offers and new projects in Switzerland, including the Porsche Drive Abo rental service, the Porsche Driving Center in Lignières with its exciting sports driving courses, as well as the “ Mobile Event Unit”, a transportable modular system that allows the brand to ensure a mobile presence.
Porsche deliveries worldwide
Globally, Porsche showed robustness in fiscal 2022 and saw a slight increase in deliveries. In total, the sports car maker delivered 309,884 vehicles in the past twelve months, three percent more than in 2021, despite numerous global crises.
